Living in Uruguay

Moving to Uruguay

Are you looking into Uruguay to make a new living? You will surely have many questions about living in Uruguay.

My name is Margo, I’m Dutch myself and after living for many years in Southern Spain and running La Herradura language school, I made the step to move to Uruguay in 2008 together with my family.           It will be a pleasure to give you a good insight of how it is to live in this small South American country and run a business as well. I run La Herradura language schools since 1995. A good way to see if the country really is how you imagine it to be, is joining a Spanish course at one of La Herradura schools in Montevideo, Punta del Este or at our Ranch in the Inland. If you decide to make the step and move to Uruguay, La Herradura offers a special Spanish course to learn the necessary vocabulary to understand the application process and be able to apply for the Uruguayan Residency more or less independently. In general, every foreigner has the opportunity to get the Uruguayan residency as long as they fulfill all the requirements and submit all the necessary documents to the Ministry of the Interior. We are very excited to give you more information on this beautiful country and getting your legal residency. If you don’t have the time to attend a course, I invite you to visit us at the head office in Punta del Este or at our Ranch to meet in person and answer all the questions you might have.

Contact us and let us know for how long you will be in Uruguay, if you are traveling on your own, or in the company of a friend or partner, your interests, and if you need accommodation, so we can send you our proposal.

Hasta pronto!
